July 20th: Mason's 1st Birthday...zoo & party #1 (July continued)

12 month stats: 

• 23.8 pounds & 30 3/4 inches long (apparently they measured him incorrectly at his 9 month check up b/c he was measured as 30 3/4 inches then too)
• Words: mama, dada, uh-oh, copies ah ah ah (when we're telling him not to touch something), duck, Nanaw (for granma), ta-da (says this after he hides his face, thus causing himself to disappear, & then he magically reappears from behind the curtain in the living room, which to him apparently operates as a "cloak of invisibility" ), attempts/copies the word touchdown while doing the gesture for touchdown (but he obviously has no idea what this means...he does associate this word with G-Bub, who taught him this little trick)
• Mobility: crawling the regular style;crawling with his tush straight up in the air; pulls up to stand; cruises along holding on to couches, chairs, etc

 Great Granny Evelyn & Great Grandad Stewart weren't going to be able to attend Mason's Saturday party, so they drove down from Dalhart to celebrate with him on his actual birthday.  That morning we all embarked on a sweaty trip out to the zoo to ring in Mason's birthday. That evening we had dinner, cake, & presents for the birthday boy.  For some reason the computer loaded the zoo pictures after the birthday party pics & I was too lazy to reorder them....so they are out of order. My deepest apologies ; ).

Mason & Great Grandad's birthdays are one day apart.

Thanks again to Nanaw for making ALL of Mason's birthday cakes! You did a great job!

Mean Uncle Keith made the boy cry on his birthday of all days! ; ) He made his apology with the gift of Mason's first Tonka truck.
