A 12 hour tour....with a parrot, a couple of frogs & an incessant singing Elmo (oh yeah, & a screaming 3 month old!)

Now that we are fully recovered & actually getting some sleep at night, we braved a long road trip to Dalhart with the little guy. We have a different view on traveling now (literally & figuratively).  You'll notice our "kitchen sink" approach in the picture on the left...& our cup holders looked a bit different now too.

If only this could have lasted the entire trip! You'll notice the "circus" of toys surrounding him. We tried everything. I've since learned that the simple crinkling of the wipes package usually charms him into calmness (but when he decides it's time to get out of the seat, you best just pull over...he gets his stubborn streak from both of us I think).  Dave Ramsey would like this as well, seeing as how wipes are much cheaper than those musical, flashy toys!
We were getting closer! You know you're in west Texas when you begin to see wind energy giants & oil horses.

We even got to stop in Lubbock & meet cousins Diane & Berkeley! That Aunt Lindsey showed up too! She's always looking for a reason to escape Odessa & there's none better than coming to see your only nephew & godson!

Saying goodbye to Nonnie on our last day
The lovely thing about traveling with a baby is all the extra time you get to spend at gas stations! (sarcasm)
This cute guy (a gift from Aunt Becca) was driving us crazy. With every bump or jossle in the road we heard "giggle, giggle, giggle" in a high pitched tone. Then our smart daddy read the directions on the tag & figured out how to shut up our feathered friend!

Finally we were home! Oh wait, we don't own a mansion on rolling hill with a perfect Texas sunset.  Ooops....wouldn't want to clean that monster house anyway!
Mommy figured out how to work the Swaddle Me in the car seat. Heaven!!!!
They had these signs everywhere in Mineral Wells.  We thought about pulling over to do our part to "keep it crazy", but alas we knew we should just keep going so that someday we could get home.  Wise decision considering it took us 12 hours to get back! (*see reason below!)
